SOBRA Medicaid is a public insurance program providing medical bill assistance. MLIF (Medicaid for Low-Income Families) is a Medicaid program for families with very low incomes and have children under the age of 19 residing in their homes.Program Details
Must be an Alabama resident and U.S. citizen or legal alien. SOBRA: Must be a child under 19 or a pregnant woman and cannot be simultaneously eligible for ALL Kids program. MLIF: Must be a parent or close relative to a child under age of 19 (non-related caretakers do not qualify). Available to aged, blind, and disabled who meet income limits listed below. Income limits: Pregnant Women: 133% Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Children Ages 0-5: 133% FPL. Children Ages 6-18: 100% FPL. Parents/Caretakers Living with Children Ages 0 -18: 24% FPL. Aged, Blind and Disabled: Singles with Incomes Up to 75% FPL and Asset Limit of $2,000, and Couples with Incomes Up to 83% FPL with Asset Limit of $3,000.
MLIF: Includes coverage for physician, prescription drug coverage, ambulatory surgical center, birth center services, child health check-ups, chiropractic care, durable medical equipment and supplies, federally-qualified health centers, home health, hospital inpatient/out-patient care, laboratory, licensed midwife, and rural health. SOBRA: Coverage includes pregnancy related services.
MLIF:$0 to $3 office visits, prescription drugs and selected other services. SOBRA: $50 co-payment for each inpatient hospital stay.
